Do not push carriage - simply pull yarn parallel to needle bed. Please read instructions *note 4.
1. Slide the de-knit carriage on to needle bed at opposite end to that at which main carriage has terminated. On Brother and Toyota machines ensure the rear edge of de-knit is under the channel lip.
2. Move de-knit across needle bed to a position outside knitting adjacent to main carriage (this will not disturb existing stitches).
3. Remove first stitch by hand.
4. Feed yarn upward from knitting through guide slot, under guide hook and round yarn control knot (clockwise when about to move de-knit from left to right and anti-clockwise from right to left)
5. Pull yarn firmly towards knitting in a direction approximately parallel to needle bed. (de knit will move across needle bed to remove stitches.) Pull down freed yarn at rear of yarn brake.
6. Cease pulling yarn when guide slot is above last stitch – move De-knit clear of knitting.
7. Check that last stitch has been removed (if necessary remove by hand) and then remove first stitch of following row. Continue as above as required.
8. (Dual stitches) Fairisle – remove main yarn stitches first, followed by pattern yarn.
9. Weaving – carry both yarns upwards through guide slot and under guide hook (main yarn to continue round yarn control knob). Pull down weaving yarn at rear of yarn brake until tensioning spring is at its lowest position. Pull main yarn parallel to needle bed as for single yarn; weaving stitches will be removed by spring tension. Pull down weaving yarn at rear repeatedly as required.
Note 1. Due to the lifting action in the process of stitch removal, proper weighting of the knitting is important in order to prevent the knitting being completely lifted off the needles – this applies particularly with less than 3 inches of knitting on the machine.
Note 2. When De-knitting with low tension numbers 1/2/3/ and fine yarns, care is necessary to prevent stitches being lifted off the needles, weights should not be more than 6 inches apart or the knitting must be held down with one hand while the yarn round the control knob is pulled across the machine with other hand.
Note 3. The De-knit will not remove ribber stitches.
Note 4. Do NOT touch yarn control knob during de-knit operation.

(a) Push cursor along needle bed to a postion near to main carriage
(b) REMOVE WEIGHTS FROM COMB.
(c) Un-pick first and second stitch by hand
(d) After De-knitting row, un-pick last two stitches
(e) Continue as required as per above instructions.
