Brother KH260 Knitting Machine

The KH-260 is a bulky-gauge flatbed knitting machine made by Brother in the 1980s, designed for home and craft knitting with thicker yarns. It’s one of Brother’s more sought-after vintage models because of its capability and patterning flexibility.

Key Features

  • Gauge: 9 mm (bulky/“chunky” gauge) - wide needle spacing for heavier yarns (e.g., worsted/aran and up).

  • Needles: ~114 needles across the bed

  • Patterning: Built-in punch-card system with ~24-stitch repeat for textured and color motifs.

  • Stitch Options: Capable of stockinette (plain), tuck, slip, fair isle/colourwork and thread lace.

  • Construction: Metal needle bed with robust carriage for regular and textured knitting.

  • Yarn Range: Best for medium to bulky yarns like aran, chunky or textured yarns; you can also work with heavier threads by knitting every-other-needle (EON) if desired.

  • Accessories Included (often): Cast-on combs, weights, transfer tools, row counter, tension mast, set of punch cards, brush and needle tools - typical of original machine knit kits.

How It’s Used

You lay the yarn into the tension mast, set stitches with the carriage and knit back and forth over the bed. The punch-card reader allows automatic selection of needles for patterned stitch sequences.

Brother KR260 Ribber Attachment

The KR-260 is a ribber accessory designed specifically to attach under the KH-260 needle bed.

What It Does

  • Rib Knitting: Enables 1×1 and 2×2 ribbing, which produces stretchy, reversible knit fabrics - great for cuffs, hems, collars and textured ribs.

  • Double Bed Techniques: With KH-260 on top and KR-260 below, you can knit double-bed patterns, jacquard, English rib and other two-bed techniques if you have the right tools.

  • Needle Arrangement: The KR-260 matches the chunky gauge of the KH-260, but in some versions the ribber needles are slightly shorter than the main bed needles (this assists proper rib tension).

  • Works with punch-card patterning and other accessories when combined with the main bed.

2. How long does it take to process Refund?


Refund depends upon the mode of payment. Please refer to the list below:

Debit card: 7 - 9 Business days
Credit card: 10 - 15 Business days

3. When does a Refund get declined?


Refund may get declined if the product received by us is not as per your claim or Order ID is missing on the package.
